Open View

Connected directly to your Central Point, Open View reads the data model behind any cell containing a NecAccess formula and surfaces every view linked to it. Each view opens in a separate dialog, keeping your Excel file intact while you analyze data in different formats, compare results across multiple views, or review views your team already built in SEI.

When to open a view​

  • Break down a summary value to see the detailed records behind it, such as invoices or individual transactions.
  • Access predefined views created by your team or administrator in SEI.
  • Compare results across models or segments by opening multiple views side by side.

Open a view from Excel​

  1. Select a cell that contains a NecAccess formula.
  2. In the Add-ins tab, select Open View.
  3. Review the list of available views. Each view shows its View ID, View Name, and View Type.
  4. Select the view you want to open.
  5. Select Ok. The view opens in your browser in a separate window.
  6. (Optional) Select another cell with a NecAccess formula using the same reference configuration. The Open View dialog updates automatically with the views for that context.
