Online/Offline

When you are not connected to your Central Point, Online/Offline keeps your reports accessible as a static snapshot of your data. While offline, you can open and review existing reports, but live features such as prompts and data extractions are unavailable until you reconnect.

Excel Add-in Online/Offline

When to go offline​

  • Reduce server load by reviewing reports without triggering data refreshes or server calls.
  • Work without a connection when traveling or in a low-connectivity environment.
  • Share a fixed snapshot with recipients who do not have access to the Central Point.

Switch to offline mode​

  1. In the Add-ins tab, select Online.
  2. The button switches to Offline, confirming you are now disconnected.
    • All NecAccess formulas are disabled while offline.
    • Selecting Refresh Formulas while offline displays #Offline in those cells.

Return to online mode​

  1. In the Add-ins tab, select Offline.
  2. The button switches to Online and all formulas in the Excel file refresh automatically.
