Navigation Panel
The Navigation Panel is the central access point for visualizations and managing settings in SEI. It runs along the left side of the interface and is always visible. The top section organizes content into five tabs: Data Models and Views, Dashboards, Reports, Workbooks, and Favorites. The bottom section gives access to environment switching, product notifications, administration, resources, eLearning, and user settings.
Right-click on an item on each tab to see the different options. Each tab shows the items you have permission to see. What you can do with those items depends on your assigned role.
Search for an item
Each content tab has a Search bar just below the tab title. Use it to quickly find a visualization without scrolling through the full list.
- By name: Type part of the visualization name. Results update as you type and include any matching data models or visualizations.
- By ID: Type the visualization ID directly. To find an ID, hover over any item in the list and it appears in the tooltip.
The search applies only to the tab you are currently on.
Data Models and Views tab
The Data Models and Views tab lists every data model and its associated views you have access to. A data model defines how data is organized and connected. A view is a worksheet or chart built on top of that data model.
Authorized users can create folders and subfolders to organize data models. Available context menu options vary depending on your permissions and whether you selected a folder, data model, or view.

The environment selector is the first icon at the bottom of the navigation panel and shows the currently active environment. Selecting it opens a dropdown of available environments, each color-coded for easy identification. Switching environments updates all visualizations to reflect the new data source.
Product Notifications
The bell icon shows product notifications, including new releases, updates, and feature requests. A red bell appears when unread notifications are available, and the count also shows in the browser tab title.
The panel has two tabs:
- News — Product announcements, promotions, and resources. Subscribe to stay current.
- Ideas — Browse and vote on feature requests, leave comments, or submit new suggestions.
Select anywhere outside the panel or the X in the top-right corner to close it. To stop receiving notifications, disable them in User Settings.
Administration
The gear icon opens the Administration section. It is only visible to users with the required role permissions.
Resources
The Resources icon opens a menu with useful links about SEI.
- Online Help: Opens the documentation website for SEI.
- About: Shows the build version, Central Point, and License Attributions details.
eLearning
The eLearning icon opens Nectari Academy, where you can enroll in training courses and access learning resources to learn how to use SEI features and tools.
User Settings
Select your profile picture at the bottom of the panel and choose User Settings to access your personal settings and preferences.
Logout
