Opening Dialogs
When you open a visualization, a dialog may appears before the data loads. Each dialog serves a different purpose and gives you control over what data gets loaded, how it gets processed, and what gets displayed.
Understanding which dialog to expect and why it appears helps you work faster and get more relevant results from your visualizations.
| Dialog | What it does |
|---|---|
| Selection Page | Sets high-level filters before a visualization opens. Filter fields apply to the entire dataset and help limit the scope of analysis from the start. |
| Data Model Parameters | Defines dynamic variables that affect calculations and column labels across all visualizations built on the same data model. |
| Stored Procedures | Runs database scripts linked to a visualization to retrieve, transform, or prepare data before it loads. |
| Prompts | Selects values for specific columns to filter and limit the data displayed in a single visualization. |
