Uninstall SEI Manually

If automatic uninstallation leaves remnants, or you want to ensure a complete cleanup of SEI and related add-ins, follow the instructions below.

important

Manual uninstallation only applies to versions older than Version 2022 Release 1.

Uninstall a previous version

  1. Check the port number for BI Services.
The port may differ from the default (4504) used during installation. If the port number is different, firewall rules may block access.
  2. Open File Explorer and navigate to the configuration file: C:\Program Files\Nectari\Nectari Server\Server\BIService.NetInstaller.exe.config (or SEI).
  3. In the configuration file, check the port number in the <baseAddresses> tag. Note or reuse this value during installation.
  4. Go to Control Panel.
  5. Select Programs, then Programs and Features.
  6. Select SEI and click Uninstall.
  7. Follow the wizard steps to remove the software.

Complete manual cleanup

After using the standard uninstaller, confirm that the application is fully removed:

  1. Delete remaining files and folders
Go to your installation directory and remove all files and folders. You may keep log files for future reference if needed.
  2. Remove related IIS entries
Open IIS Manager (search for IIS in the Windows menu).
Delete any remaining Sites and Application Pools related to the web server or Scheduler API (for example, WebServer.Nectari and Scheduler.Nectari).
  3. Clean registry settings Open Registry Editor (search for regedit in the Windows menu):
    • Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Nectari Software Inc. and delete the SEI Server key if it exists.
    • Use the Find tool from the Edit menu to search for SEI Server and delete any remaining entries.

Use a tool like RegScanner to efficiently find all instances of SEI Server in the registry.
