First-time Login and License Activation

After installation, you can access SEI from any supported web browser and log in for the first time to activate your license. On initial login, you’ll use default administrator credentials to set up the system and activate your license key. Be sure to use the correct server address for your environment and review any instructions specific to your deployment.

Log in for the first time

  1. Open your web browser. Google Chrome is the recommended browser.
  2. In the address bar, enter the server URL provided during installation.
    Example: http://yourserver:81
Replace 81 with your configured port number, if different.
  3. On the login screen, leave the Domain name field blank.
  4. Enter ADMIN as the username and admin as the password.
For cloud environments, use the credentials provided by your vendor, typically ADMCA. It does not provide have access to the Environments & Data Sources page.
  5. Click Log in.

important

Do not use localhost (for example, http://localhost:81) even when working directly on the server, as this can cause instability.

Resolve Central Point access issues

If you see the error The selected Central Point is invalid:

  1. Verify that your user account can access the Central Point folder.
  2. Ensure that the Central Point path in your web server configuration is correct.
  3. If needed, review and adjust the CentralPoint path in Web.config:
    The default location is either:
    • C:\Program Files\Nectari\Nectari Server\WebServer\Web.config
    • C:\Program Files\SEI\SEI Server\WebServer\Web.config

Activate SEI license

After your first successful login, the Activate License window appears.

  1. Enter the Serial Number (license key) provided with your installation, and click Next.
Each license key is single-use only.
  2. Read the license agreement, select I accept the terms and conditions, and click Completed.

Once activated, SEI is ready to use. The application will be empty at first—no views, dashboards, reports, or workbooks are available until content is imported. To add data models, cubes, and ready-to-use content, follow the Template Installation guide for your ERP.

User management

When adding new SEI users, you can base their profiles on existing Active Directory accounts. This simplifies password management and leverages your organization’s existing security setup.
