Install Central Point

During installation, the Central Point configuration database is created to store application-wide settings, such as user access. The installation package sets up the SEI database and establishes the Central Point folder path.

You can install Central Point for either Oracle or SQL Server. To begin, locate your installation folder and run either Nectari Central Point For SQL Server And Oracle.exe or SEI Central Point For SQL Server And Oracle.exe, depending on your product name. After you launch the installer, follow the steps below for your chosen database environment.

important

If you encounter the error Some files named could not be created during installation:

  • If Server defaults is selected, verify whether BI License database files already exist at that location and delete them if needed before retrying.
  • Otherwise, confirm that the database instance's user account has permission to write to the specified path, or select a different location and rerun the installer.
