Acumatica Action Buttons for the Writeback
When writing back data to Acumatica, you can add action buttons to your workbook to trigger specific Acumatica operations directly from the sheet. These buttons work alongside the Writeback Wizard and let you perform actions like creating or releasing records in Acumatica without leaving SEI.
The button is added through the Action Button Wizard in the Analysis tab. You need to configure the Writeback Wizard before adding action buttons.

Acumatica action buttons are only available when using an Acumatica data source.
Available action buttons
| Action Button | What it does |

| Release Budget | Releases a budget record in Acumatica, making it available for further processing. |
| Create Budget | Creates a new budget record in Acumatica based on the values mapped in the workbook. |
| Release Journal | Releases a journal entry in Acumatica. |
Add an action button
- Open a workbook with a Writeback Wizard already configured.
- On the Analysis tab, select Action Button Wizard.
- Under Type, select Acumatica Action.
- Under Button select one of the three available action.
- Select the environment and data source.
- Review the Entity / Table filled in automatically based on the button you selected.
- Under Type of Selection, select the identifier that determines which record the action applies to
- Enter or select the cell where the button will appear on the sheet.
- (Optional) Edit the default label to give the button a more specific name.
- Choose a color using the color picker, or enter a HEX code directly.
- Review the Preview to confirm the button appearance.
- Click Save.
