Excel Add-in
The Excel Add-in for SEI brings advanced reporting and analytics directly to Microsoft Excel, allowing you to build live or offline reports based on SEI data models. Install the Add-in on every Windows workstation where users need Excel integration. Connect the Add-in to the SEI Server and Central Point to access live summary data, or work offline after your first successful connection. For reliability, always install an Excel Add-in version that matches your SEI version. Using mismatched versions may cause errors or reporting inconsistencies.
The Excel Add-in is only supported on Windows and is not compatible with Office or Excel versions installed from the Microsoft Store. The Add-in must connect to both Central Point and the Nectari Web Server on first use. After the initial connection, offline work is available.
- Microsoft Excel 2016 or higher is required.
- Central point must be installed and accessible.
- SEI must be installed and running.
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 must be present for full compatibility, especially if upgrading from Nectari version 8.2.7.X or earlier. If not installed, download it here. The Add-in installer will install it automatically if needed. Restart your workstation if prompted after installation.
System verification
Before installing, verify the version of Windows and Microsoft Office on your workstation.
Verify your Windows version
- Press Windows key and type
System, then select System from the search results. - In the Device specifications section, look for System type.
This will indicate if your system is 32-bit or 64-bit.
Check your Microsoft Office version
- Start Excel.
- Select the File tab, then click Account.
- Select About Excel to see your Office version and bitness.
