Customize Layout

You can change the layout of your dashboard by modifying, resizing, moving, or removing views. Customizing the arrangement and appearance of views helps you present data in the most effective way for your audience, ensuring that important insights are easy to find and understand.

When a dashboard is in Edit mode, you can reposition views within its grid system, adjust their dimensions, or replace them entirely with a different view type. You can also remove views that are no longer needed without affecting the underlying data model.

You can further refine the look and feel of your dashboard beyond layout changes. For example, you can add a tile header and adjust its style to give views consistent titles, change the theme of the entire dashboard for a unified appearance, or modify the visual properties of a specific view to fine‑tune formatting and display settings.

While editing, select the Dashboards icon in the navigation panel on the left to close it. This enlarges the workspace area and gives you full control over customization.

Change the view type​

Changing the view type and its properties affects only the view in the current dashboard. The original view in the data model remains unchanged.

  1. In the Toolbar panel, choose Edit Dashboard. You must be in Edit mode to change the layout.
  2. Select a view on your dashboard, then select the Change View icon.
  3. In the Select View dialog, choose a different view type.
  4. Apply the relevant settings. Settings vary by view type.
  5. Select Confirm.
  6. Save your changes.

Resize or move views in the dashboard​

You can resize or move views to organize your dashboard and make it easier to read.

  1. In the Toolbar panel, choose Edit Dashboard. You must be in Edit mode to change the layout.
  2. Select a view.
  3. Drag and drop the view to the desired location. A gray highlight appears to indicate possible placement sections.
  4. Resize the view by dragging its sides or corners.
  5. Repeat the process for other views as needed.
  6. Save your changes.

Remove a view​

Removing a view from a dashboard does not delete it from the data model.

  1. In the Toolbar panel, choose Edit Dashboard. You must be in Edit mode to remove a view.
  2. Select a view and click the Delete icon. The view is removed from the dashboard.
  3. Save your changes. If you do not save, the view will reappear the next time you open the dashboard.
