Payroll & Workforce (MoM)

Sage 300 People, Dashboard

The Payroll & Workforce (MoM) dashboard for Sage 300 People calculates monthly payroll performance, workforce cost, headcount change, and earnings volatility. It includes salary expense, net pay, cost per employee, overtime, and month over month (MoM) payroll fluctuations.

How to use the payroll and workforce dashboard

  • Follow salary cost and net pay across the months of the selected year.
  • Compare the average salary cost of each job grade and the average cost per employee.
  • Check the overtime percentage to see how much of the payroll cost comes from overtime.
  • Count the active employees included in payroll for the selected period.
  • Spot abnormal payroll fluctuations and large earning variances from one month to the next.

Filters

Use the filtering panel at the top of the Workforce Demographics dashboard to control which data is shown. The filters apply to all views and ensure the dashboard reflects the selections you choose.

The filters from Branch to TWK Costing work as a hierarchy: a selection in one limits the values listed in the filters that come after it.

Different filters

The list below may not match what you see in your own filters. Sage lets each company name and order these hierarchy filters on its own, so Branch through TWK Costing is only one possible example.

Key performance indicators (KPIs)

The key performance indicators (KPIs) at the top of the dashboard show six payroll and workforce measures for the selected month and year, and update based on the filters you apply.

KPIWhat it measures
Salary CostTotal gross salary expense for the selected month and year, which rises as payroll costs more.
Net PayTotal net pay after statutory and voluntary deductions, where a higher value means more cash is paid out to employees.
Avg. Cost per EmployeeAverage payroll cost per active employee, which is higher when pay is higher or the workforce is more senior.
Overtime %Overtime cost as a proportion of total payroll, where a higher value means a larger share goes to overtime and may point to a capacity strain.
Headcount (Active)Number of active employees included in payroll for the selected period, which grows as the workforce expands.
Company Contributions %Employer contribution percentage for statutory or benefit related payroll components, where a higher value means the employer pays more in contributions.
