Leave
The Leave dashboard for Sage 300 People quantifies leave utilization, leave liability, and leave patterns across departments and over time. It includes accrued leave and its financial value, employees with excess leave, employees with zero leave, and leave taken by department and by type.
How to use the leave dashboard
- Follow the value of accrued but unused leave month by month, along with its change from the previous month.
- Identify the employees with the highest leave liability and compare them with last year.
- Count the active employees with zero leave next to the average leave days taken.
- Check the percentage of employees with excess leave against the excessive leave threshold you select.
- Compare leave taken across departments and leave types and over time.
Filters
Use the filtering panel at the top of the Workforce Demographics dashboard to control which data is shown. The filters apply to all views and ensure the dashboard reflects the selections you choose.
The filters from Excessive Leave Threshold to Contractors work as a hierarchy: a selection in one limits the values listed in the filters that come after it.
The list below may not match what you see in your own filters. Sage lets each company name and order these hierarchy filters on its own, so Excessive Leave Threshold through Contractors is only one possible example.
Key performance indicators (KPIs)
The key performance indicators (KPIs) at the top of the dashboard show six leave measures, and update based on the filters you apply.
| KPI | What it measures |
|---|---|
| Total Leave Liability (YTD) | Total financial value of accrued but unused leave from the start of the year, where a higher value means larger future payout obligations. |
| Avg. Leave Days Taken (YTD) | Average number of leave days taken per employee year to date, which is higher when employees take more of their leave. |
| % of Employees With Excess Leave | Percentage of active employees whose accrued leave exceeds the excessive leave threshold, so a higher value means more employees are above the limit. |
| Active Employees With Zero Leave | Number of active employees with no available leave balance, where a higher value may come from employees who used all their leave or were hired recently. |
| Leave Usage Rate | Rate of leave utilization across the workforce for the selected period, where a higher value means leave is used more. |
| Leave Liability Change (MoM) | Month over month (MoM) change in total leave liability, where a positive value means accrued leave obligations grew. |
