Sales Anomalies and Trends
The Sales Anomalies and Trends dashboard for Sage 300 surfaces margin erosion risk, abnormal daily sales activity, and sales patterns over time. It flags early warning signals in customer and product performance, risk that comes from sales volatility, and statistically abnormal revenue events.
How to use the sales anomalies and trends dashboard
- Spot margin erosion by customer and product before it grows into a larger financial impact.
- Catch statistically abnormal sales spikes or drops for fraud checks, operational review, and validation of one-off events.
- Follow day level and month level sales density to see patterns in operational and commercial activity.
- Notice outliers that may signal posting errors, timing issues, or extraordinary transactions.
- Trace the source of margin erosion by customer and product, for pricing decisions, contract renegotiations, and product portfolio decisions.

Visual components
| View name | Type of view | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Customer Margin Erosion Monitor | Bubble | Maps customers by net sales variance % along the horizontal axis, with bubble size and the vertical axis showing additional measures. Customers further right have a larger variance, and bubbles that sit lower point to shrinking margins. |
| Temporal Sales Density Map | Bubble | Positions sales activity by*month (horizontal axis) and day of the month (vertical axis), with bubble size reflecting sales volume. Larger bubbles mark the days when sales concentrate the most. |
| Product Margin Erosion Monitor | Bubble | Maps products by net sales variance % along the horizontal axis, using the same structure as the Customer Margin Erosion Monitor but at the product level. |
| Anomaly Detection in Daily Sales | Combination | Follows daily net sales against a volatility band with a high and a low value. Days where net sales fall outside the band point to unusual activity that may need investigation. |
