Key performance indicators (KPIs)​

The key performance indicators (KPIs) at the top of the dashboard are grouped into four categories, profitability, liquidity, and leverage, and update based on the filters you apply.

Performance KPIs​

Revenue YTDTotal sales generated from the start of the fiscal year to the current period.
Gross Profit YTDCumulative profit after deducting cost of goods sold from revenue year to date.
Gross Profit YTD Margin %Percentage of revenue retained as gross profit year to date, higher when more of each sale is retained after costs.
Net Income YTDTotal profit or loss after all expenses and taxes from the start of the fiscal year, positive when income exceeds expenses.

Profitability KPIs​

Return on Assets (ROA)Efficiency of generating profit from total assets, calculated as net income divided by total assets.
Return on Equity (ROE)Profitability relative to shareholders' equity, calculated as net income divided by shareholders' equity.
Operating Expenses Ratio (OER)Proportion of operating expenses relative to revenue, calculated as operating expenses divided by revenue.
Return on Capital Employed (ROCE)Efficiency of generating operating profit from capital employed, calculated as operating profit divided by total assets minus current liabilities.

Liquidity KPIs​

Working Capital YTDDifference between current assets and current liabilities year to date, positive when current assets exceed current liabilities.
Working Capital LYTDPrior year working capital amount for the same period, used for comparison.
Current RatioLiquidity ratio calculated as current assets / current liabilities, with a value above 1 indicating the ability to meet short term obligations.
Working Capital TurnoverEfficiency of using working capital to generate revenue, higher when working capital generates more revenue.

Leverage KPIs​

Debt to Capital RatioShare of the capital structure funded by debt, higher for increased leverage.
Debt to Assets RatioProportion of assets financed through debt, higher for elevated financial risk.
