Manage DataSync Accounts

To log in to DataSync, you need a registered user account that is linked to a valid product license. You create the account directly from the login page, and DataSync then sends an activation email so you can set your own password. Before you register, make sure DataSync is installed and configured on your server. Then, settings for the mail server and the database connection are managed separately in Settings.

The login page shows the Version, Release, and Build of your DataSync installation. Check them to confirm which DataSync version you run, for example to verify that an update was applied or to compare your installation with the release notes.

Register a DataSync user

When you register a new user to DataSync, it creates the user profile and links it to your product license. The new user appears in the Users list in the Settings page and receives an activation email to set a password. The user cannot log in until the password is set.

You can register several users under the same license, and you can create different usernames under the same email address.

  1. Open DataSync in your browser.
  2. Click Register.
  3. Enter the email address, username, first name, and last name of the new user.
  4. In Serial Number, enter your product license number.
  5. Click Register.

  1. On the login page, select Forgot your password?.
  2. Enter the username you used during registration.
  3. Click Submit.
  4. Follow the email instructions to set a new password that meets the password requirements.
